COVID-19 Additional Precautionary Measures

20th of March 2020

Integrity Athletics, Integrity Volleyball Center, and Trics Gymnastics Academy will continue the suspension of classes and programming for the upcoming week. (March 23rd – March 29th)

Our entire team at Integrity would like to thank for your continued patience and support as we all navigate through this challenging and uncertain time.  Our Leadership Team is continuing to meet and talk daily to assess the situation and will update you accordingly.

At this time, per the Ohio Department of Health’s amended Order,  fitness centers, recreational centers, and gyms are NOT permitted to be open as well as all service-oriented industries such as salons, spas, movie theaters, etc.

We’ll continue to look at the Governor’s actions regarding these industries as our guide.

It is our intent that once the Order is lifted for our industry, we will open the next day for operations and make sure that we adjust our programming to stay within the guidelines provided by both the CDC and Ohio DOH.

HOWEVER, IT IS ALSO OUR INTENT TO STAY CONNECTED WITH ALL OF OUR INCREDIBLE STAFF, ATHLETES, AND FAMILIES DURING THIS VERY TOUGH TIME. PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR WHAT WE HAVE IN THE WORKS FOR YOU IN APRIL! WE WILL BE SENDING CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING OUR PLANS THIS WEEKEND! STAY TUNED!

Thank you for the outpouring of support that we have received from you all. This will be tough but we are strong, and we will persevere.

#WEAREINTEGRITY

Yours Truly,

Your entire team at Integrity Athletics

COVID-19 Additional Precautionary Measures

Effective Monday, March 16th at 12:30OM through at least Sunday, March 22nd Integrity Athletics and the Integrity Volleyball Center will suspend classes and programming.

Our entire team at Integrity would like to thank you in advance for your patience and support as we all navigate through this challenging and uncertain time. Know that our Leadership Team is meeting and talking daily to diligently problem solve a situation that is new to us and the entire country. We continue to assess the situation daily and will update you frequently regarding the steps we are taking at Integrity Athletics and the Integrity Volleyball Center to keep our families and employees healthy and safe.

First, our source for guidance and direction is the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) in conjunction with the CDC. We are following the protocols and checklists they have put in place. Amy Acton, MD, MPH, Director of Health for the state of Ohio and Governor DeWine have been widely praised for being one of the leading states in implementing some of the earliest and strictest precautionary measures across the nation.

At this time fitness centers and daycares are permitted to be open as well as all service-oriented industries such as salons, spas, movie theaters, etc. We’ve continued to look at the Governors actions regarding these industries as a guide. During Governor DeWine’s press conference Sunday at 4pm he was asked if daycares and fitness centers are to be closed. He stated, “not at this time….”

At 10:50pm on Sunday, the CDC issued further guidance about recommendations of groups of 50 people or less. The guidance specifically states “This recommendation does not apply to the day to day operations of organizations such as schools, institutes of higher learning or businesses”

We are reviewing that guidance further.

Nonetheless, we’ve decided to proactively suspend all athlete activities at our facilities through Sunday March 22nd.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW

  • For our competitive athletes there is a strong social component to seeing their friends every day and working towards a common goal. Our team coaches are working quickly to develop ways to connect coaches and teammates at this time virtually with video and exercises that can be done at home. We are exploring team Facebook groups, video conferencing and other ways to stay connected during this time.
  • For our recreational athletes our goal is always to be “the best hour of their week.” For them not to have that time with us is hard. We hope to see them as soon as possible. We will maintain a policy of unlimited and free makeups until further notice.
  • For our staff, this is extremely difficult as well. Our staff is made up of:
    • College students now having to move from dorms and find housing.
    • High school students who’s whole learning experience has been turned upside down for the foreseeable future.
    • Parents of athletes who love kids, and are now scrambling for child-care options and facilitating online learning at home.
    • Career coaching professionals for whom this is a career and livelihood and sole source of income.
  • Just like your athlete, Integrity will do all we can to support them through this difficult time. Just Please know they are doing their best to manage this situation just as we are.
  • For now, we continue to do the best we can to connect, support, and encourage each other.

What Happens Next

  • Our full-time staff will spend this week cleaning, communicating with parents, and finishing small projects yet to be completed as part of our recent expansion.
  • During this week, our staff will continue to follow all the precautionary measures that have been put in place by ODH.
  • We do not have a perfect vision or clarity of how things will unfold, but we are committed to continue to communicate and make the most informed decisions possible.
  • We will be reviewing the current guidance of CDC in addition to ODH and developing plans for reopening that fall within these guidelines.
  • We will provide a further update on March 22nd.

We exist to serve kids in the community. We want to be a healthy and safe solution in this difficult situation. We will be working this week to develop plans within the recent guidelines of the CDC and ODH so we can continue to be a safe and high-quality option for kids’ health and fitness in our community. We are blessed to be one of the largest facilities in central Ohio with two locations. Therefore, we are fortunate to have resources and large amount of options regarding time frames, physical distancing and spacing of classes. We are doing our best to ensure the well-being of our employees and families and look forward to a time where a sense of normalcy returns for us all. Thank you for all your support. We need each other, now, more than ever.

Yours Truly,

Your entire team at Integrity Athletics

Update: 03/13/2020

As we continue to prevent the spread of germs we will be issuing a nonuse of our water fountains. Please send your athletes with a water bottle that will last them through their practice.

We at Integrity Athletics are striving to keep a clean environment, please note the following precautionary measures and recommendations:

  • During classes and practices coaches have adjusted lesson plans to limit contact with athletes unless it is necessary for the safety of the child.
  • Our common areas, mats, and other surfaces are continuously being cleaned.
  • Our staff will be mandated to clean their hands and equipment throughout their shift.
  • As sanitizer is becoming scarce in the area, all athletes must wash their hands before and after practice. Sanitizer can be provided when necessary.
  • In order to limit foot traffic through our facility we ask that children are only accompanied by an immediate family member or guardian and we ask to please limit sibling attendance.
  • If you or your child are showing any symptoms of the cold/flu we kindly ask you to please stay home and not risk the spread of any illness. Unlimited make-ups will be guaranteed to our currently enrolled families.

Sincerely,
Integrity Athletics

UPDATE: 03/10/2020

Dear Integrity Families,

We wanted to reach out to all of our members in regard to the rising public concern of COVID-19, most commonly known as the Coronavirus. Our highest priority at Integrity Athletics is the well-being and safety of our clientele and staff. Based on the current status of the outbreak, we do not intend to cancel any classes, rather we wanted to share with you the precautionary measures we are taking and give additional details relating to this matter.

With the rise in illnesses this season including influenza, strep throat, and the common cold we are going above and beyond to ensure our facility is both clean and safe for everyone who walks through our doors. All common areas, surfaces, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned every day. Additionally, our restrooms are stocked with antibacterial soap and we have supplied an abundance of hand sanitizer for public use.

We kindly ask that if your child is showing any symptoms of a cold, fever, or other infections that you please keep them at home. We will be providing unlimited make-ups during this time if your child is unable to attend class due to illness. Our partners at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) have provided us with the following information on what you need to know about the virus and common preventative measures to keep everyone healthy:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
