The HUGS program allows athletes with special needs the opportunity to participate recreationally or compete in an official USAGymnastics setting. The expectations are that the fundamentals of the sport are to be taught and performed, and will be evaluated with the technical standards of gymnastics.
Classes will be structured similarly to our Integrity gymnastics classes, giving gymnasts the opportunity to improve their movement, motor skills, flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination all while having fun!
We offer programs in Artistic Boy’s & Girl’s, Trampoline & Tumbling, and Rhythmic Gymnastics for all ages and genders with options 1x, 2x or 3x a week.
Integrity Athletics is so happy to welcome our new HUGS program coordinator, Katlyn McClure. Please see Coach Katyln’s bio:
My name is Coach Kaitlyn and I am so happy to be joining the Integrity team as the HUGS coordinator and head coach of the boys and girls HUGS program! After living, teaching, and coaching in Tennessee for the past 2 years, I moved back to Ohio to get married and to live with my husband! We got married in August and we currently reside in Grove City! While in Tennessee, I was a special education preschool teacher for 2 years. After moving back to Ohio, I began teaching at Imagine Academy at Sullivant as the Intervention Specialist. Before beginning my formal teaching career, I was a summer camp counselor for individuals ages 6-21 all whom had developmental delays and or diagnosed disabilities for 3 years. When I was not working, in school or teaching- I was at the gym! I was a competitive gymnast for 15 years competing in the USAG, YMCA, high school, and collegiate levels. After retirement from competition, I have pursued gymnastics opportunities on the other side of the mat as a Junior Olympic judge! I am certified to judge levels 1-8 at the competitive level and am so ready to get back in the gym alongside our athletes as a coach!
When you see me in the gym judging or coaching, you will probably find me singing or talking about Disney (parks, movies, songs- you name it!) I also love to travel and spend time with my family. I cannot wait to meet all of you and get to know everything about you!
